We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Threat Modeling Connect Forum. This forum is a safe space for our members to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore best practices in threat modeling.

Whether you’re a seasoned threat modeling expert or just starting out, there’s something for you in the forum to participate, contribute, or simply, to enjoy!

Ways to Participate

  • Dive into the latest: Discover or share the latest news in threat modeling in “The Threat Gazette.”
  • Engage in topics that matter to you: Join discussions on tooling, techniques, management, AI/ML, and more.
  • New to Threat Modeling? Welcome! We have a dedicated space for threat modeling beginners to ask questions and get help and feedback from people who’ve been where you are.
  • Experts looking to give back? Share your experiences and tips to help others in the community learn and grow. You can also showcase your threat model—perhaps the greatest gift you can offer the community!
  • Ready for a challenge? Participate in our monthly challenges to earn badges and win special prizes.

FAQ

How do I join the forum? Is it free?
Joining is easy! You can create an account by clicking Sign Up on the homepage or by accepting the invite. The membership of the forum is completely FREE, and it will always be.

I had an account on the previous TMC forum. Do I need to create a new account?
Yes, you will need to create a new account to access this updated forum, as it is a new platform designed for enhanced user experience.

Why didn’t we use Slack?
While we considered using Slack, we identified the biggest need in the threat modeling community was a space dedicated to ongoing discussions and asynchronous collaboration. The forum structure allows for content to be well-organized and easily searchable–which Slack just isn't built for.

Will we have a Slack community soon?
Yes! We have a Slack space set up for our volunteers to coordinate on events and other community initiatives, and we plan to open it up to all members later this year for real-time discussions during virtual events, whereas the TMC Forum will remain our primary hub for asynchronous collaborations.

A Huge Thanks to Our Community Stars

We owe a big shoutout to @Dave Soldera and @Amit Sharma, the stars behind the creation of this forum. They’ve worked tirelessly to build this space since this summer and migrated all of our content from the previous platform. Their dedication ensures that the forum creates a welcoming, safe, and resourceful environment for everyone to learn and grow. As moderators, they will continue to foster engagement and facilitate discussions, so be sure to give them a virtual high-five! 👋
